ATHENS METRO - VISIT OF THE CHINESE DELEGATION

On April 10, 2012, ATTIKO METRO S.A. was visited by a Chinese delegation of high-ranking municipal government officials and other officials responsible for the coordination and construction of Qingdao Metro system.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Liu Jianjun, Head of the delegation and Deputy Secretary General of Qingdao Municipal Government, as well as by officials of the Municipal Commission for the Development and Rehabilitation of the city of Qingdao and the Beijing Institute of Urban Planning and Research.

The Chinese delegation was briefed by Mr. Christos Tsitouras, ATTIKO METRO S.A. BoD Chairman, as well as by officials of the Engineering Division, on the background of the Athens and Thessaloniki Metro construction, the new Metro Projects and the future developments regarding the company’s presence in Greece, as well as the new possibilities now provided to the company by virtue of recently passed legislation, which enables the company to transfer its know-how to markets outside Greece, to actually undertake this kind of activities and to assume the role of a consultant.

In the framework of its further development, ATTIKO METRO S.A. is currently examining the possibility to transfer and exchange know-how with other countries which are currently at the stage of designing or constructing Metro systems, as well as to provide relevant consulting services.
