THESSALONIKI METRO - Second Phase of the Tender for the Thessaloniki Metro Extension to Kalamaria

The greatest transport infrastructure project in Thessaloniki is expanding to Kalamaria with five (5) new Stations (Nomarchia, Kalamaria, Aretsou, Nea Krini and Micra) and 4.78 km of underground line. This is an investment of an overall estimated budget of 518,000,000 EURO, plus VAT, and has been integrated for funding in the National Strategic Reference Framework.

On Friday, July 6^th 2012, the following bidders, pre-selected during Phase A of the Tender, submitted to ATTIKO METRO S.A. their envelopes with the Technical and Financial Offers for participation in stage B of the Tender, namely:

1.	AEGEK KATASKEVASTIKI – IMPREGILO – SELI – ANSALDO STS
2.	AKTOR Α.Τ.Ε.
3.	ΤΕRΝΑ Α.Ε. – ALPINE BAU GMBH – FCC CONSTRUCCION S.A.
4.	J&P - ΑVΑX ΑΕ – GHELLA SPA – ALSTOM TRANSPORT SA

The offers of the aforementioned bidders shall be evaluated by ATTIKO METRO S.A. and it is estimated that by the end of the year, the new Contractor will have been installed.

The extension of the Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria is anticipated to serve more than 63,000 passengers on a daily basis, who will enjoy safe, comfortable and rapid trips.
