Further to the plea addressed by the Deputy Minister of YPOMEDI Mr. Yiannis Mangriotis to all Public entities concerned and to the invitation made by the Chairman of ATTIKO METRO S.A. BoD Mr. Christos Tsitouras to all agencies of the city of Thessaloniki, a meeting was held today at the Premises of Thessaloniki Holy Diocese between the Chairman of Attiko Metro and His Holiness Metropolitan Bishop Anthimos, in the presence of Thessaloniki’s Mayor Mr. Yiannis Boutaris and the Vice-Mayor Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, as well as state’s officials; the only agenda of the meeting was the settlement of any pending issues in view of the construction – even at a later stage – of PAPAFIO Station.
Upon completion of the honest and detailed discussion, all parties agreed to the immediate construction of the subject station to the benefit of all citizens of Thessaloniki. Just a few final arrangements are left for the issue to be settled.
We believe that – soon – an additional worksite will come to supplement the construction plan of this major national project in the city of Thessaloniki.
