Technical & financial offers were submitted today for the completion of HOLARGOS & NOMISMATOKOPIO Stations as well as for the full construction of AGHIA PARASKEVI Station. In particular, the following three consortia, which consist of 8 major greek and foreign technical companies submitted their offers:
- TERNA S.A.- ALPINE MAYREDER BAU GmbH – PANTECHNIKI S.A.-POWELL E.S. INC
- AEGEΚ – IMPREGILO S.p.A. – ALSTOM Transport S.A.
- AKTOR Α.Τ.Ε.
Construction works at the three stations of Metro Line 3 are expected to commence in the early 2007 provided that there will be no entanglements at the second stage of the tender procedure due to objections, appeals etc. Based on this time schedule NOMISMATOKOPIO Station is provided for to be commissioned late 2007, while HOLARGOS and AGHIA PARASKEVI are expected to be commissioned late 2008.
Moreover, concurrently with the completion of the construction of NOMISMATOKOPIO Station a Bus Transfer Station will be set into operation and a car park facility with a 470-car place capacity will be created in order to serve the needs of north and north-south suburbs of Athens.
The Athens Metro is further extended changing life in town.The distance AGHIA PARASKEVI-SYNTAGMA is currently covered in approximately 45 minutes in rush hour, while by Metro it will be covered in only 12 minutes!
