Section A of Line 4 forms part of the scheduled to be implemented in the long run overall Project of Line 4. The length of this section is approximately 12.8 km and it additionally includes the connecting tunnel of Line 4 with Lines 2 and 3, as well as the access tunnel to the train stabling and maintenance yard at Katehaki. The Project is made up of fifteen (15) underground stations and nine (9) intermediate and/or terminal shafts.
Section A of Line 4 has been designed with the purpose to serve a number of densely populated areas of the city, as well as a number of important buildings and facilities, such as Hospitals, Educational Institutions, Court Houses and Premises of Public Organizations or Ministries.

Project budget and estimated time of delivery
The Project’s estimated cost rises to the amount of 1,510,000,000.00 € and the estimated delivery time is 96 months.
The Project funding has been incorporated in the new National Strategic Reference Framework 2014 – 2020 and in the Business Plan “Infrastructure, Transportation, Environment and Sustainable Growth”.
